1 - Extremely rare suite of Venetian costumes of high-ranking officials. This suite, complete in its title and comprising 12 plates, depicts Venetian costumes of high-ranking officials against a backdrop of Venetian monuments. The plates are signed with the monogram of Giacomo Balduino followed by the name of the engraver A. Zuchi and the address of the publisher, Ludovic Ragheno.

Andrea Zucchi was a Venetian copperplate engraver and painter. Born in Venice in 1675 (or shortly after); died in 1740 in Dresden. He engraved a series of views and costumes of Venice.

Only three copies have been located in public libraries: at the British Library, St. Pancras in London; at the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibnitz Library-Lower Saxony Library in Hanover; and at the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, Preußischer Kulturbesitz, Kunstbibliothek in Berlin.

2 - A very rare set of Augsburg costumes in beautiful period colors.
A set of 24 plates in period colors published by J. Wolff with a trilingual German-French-Italian caption depicting Augsburg men and women of different backgrounds, at different times of the year, in front of bourgeois houses and churches.

The last eight plates bear, at the top right, traces of stamping in the paper, a 12 cm tear in the inside margin of the plate "A servant, who...", a large consolidated tear in the plate of "Servante a la maison," and small wormholes in the upper left margin of the plates.

The most complete set ever identified. Lipperheide's bibliography cites only 19 plates; a copy with 23 plates, of which only two were colored, was sold at auction in Germany in 2003; another copy, sold in 1959 at Sotheby's with 22 colored plates, was described as "very rare." Despite the few defects noted, these two sets are exceptionally rare.

Binding a bit worn, rubbed and stained, vellum slightly shrunk.
