1 - Rarissime suite de costumes vénitiens de hauts dignitaires.
Cette suite bien complète de son titre et de ses 12 planches figure des costumes vénitiens des hauts dignitaires avec en arrière-plan des monuments de Venise. Les planches sont signées du monogramme de Giacomo Balduino suivi du nom du graveur A. Zuchi et de l’adresse de l’éditeur Ludovic Ragheno.

Andrea Zucchi est un graveur sur cuivre vénitien et peintre. - Né à Venise en 1675 (ou un peu après) ; mort en 1740 à Dresde. Il a gravé des séries de vues et de costumes de Venise.
Aucun exemplaire ne semble jamais être passé en vente. Seuls trois exemplaires ont pu être localisés dans des bibliothèques publiques : à la British Library, St. Pancras à Londres ; à la Gottfried Wilhelm Leibnitz Bibliothek-Niedersächsische Landesbibliothek à Hanovre et à la Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, Preußischer Kulturbesitz, Kunstbibliothek à Berlin.

2 - Très rare suite de costumes d’Augsbourg en très beau coloris d’époque.
Suite de 24 planches en coloris d’époque publiées par J. Wolff avec légende trilingue allemand-français-italien figurant des hommes et des femmes d’Augsbourg de différentes conditions, à différentes époques de l’année, devant des maisons bourgeoises et des églises.

Les 8 dernières planches portent, en haut à droite, des traces d’emboutissage dans le papier, déchirure sur 12 cm en marge intérieure à la planche « Une servante, qui… », large déchirure consolidée à la planche de la « Servante a la maison », petits trous de ver dans la marge en haut à gauche des planches.

Suite la plus complète jamais identifiée. La bibliographie de Lipperheide ne cite que 19 planches ; un exemplaire avec 23 planches, dont deux seulement étaient coloriées, est passé en vente publique en Allemagne en 2003 ; un autre exemplaire, passé en vente en 1959 chez Sotheby’s avec 22 planches coloriées, était qualifié de « very rare ». Malgré les quelques défauts indiqués, ces deux suites sont d’une insigne rareté.

Reliure usagée, frottée et tachée, vélin légèrement rétracté.

We offer many maps in their original black and white condition. We do not systematically color-up maps to make them more sellable to the general public or buyer.
Copper engraved or wood block maps are always hand colored. Maps were initially colored for aesthetic reasons and to improve readability. Nowadays, it is becoming a challenge to find maps in their original colors and are therefor more valuable.
We use the following color keys in our catalog:
Original colors; mean that the colors have been applied around the time the map was issued.
Original o/l colors; means the map has only the borders colored at the time of publication.
Colored; If the colors are applied recently or at the end of the 20th century.

Shipping fee
