Description
A world map issued four days after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, which led England and the United States to declare war on Japan, this message from Mussolini, celebrates the attack and speaks in fiery nationalistic rhetoric in support of the German-Japanese-Italian Tripartite and urges Italians to "stand up! Be worthy of this great hour. We will win."
In the lower part, images of the Japanese fleet.

In the lower-left corner an inset message from Benito Mussolini dated the same day as the declaration of War on the United States, where he declares:
Camerati!
Italiani e Italiane! Ancora una volta in piedi! Siate degni di questa grande ora.
Vinceremo.
Musselini - Roma 11-12-1941.

Translated to English:
Comrades!
And this is another day of solemn decisions in the history of Italy and memorable events destined to give a new course in the history of the continents.
The Powers of the Pastto d'Acciaio, Fascist Italy and National Socialist Germany, more and more closely united, descend today to the side of the heroic Japan against the United States of America.
The Tripartite becomes a military alliance that deploys 250 million men around its flags, determined to do anything to win.
Neither the Axis nor Japan wanted the extension of the conflict. A man, a single man, an authentic and democratic despot, through an endless series of provocations, deceiving with a supreme fraud the populations of his country, wanted the war and prepared it day by day with diabolical pertinacity.
The striking blows that have already been inflicted on American forces on the immense expanses of the Pacific show that the soldiers of the Rising Sun are quenching.
I say, and you hear it, that it is a privilege to fight with them.
Today, the Tripartite, in the fullness of its moral and material means, is a powerful tool for war and the sure guarantor of victory. It will be tomorrow, the author and the organizer of just peace between peoples.
Italians and Italians! Once again stand up! Be worthy of this great hour. We will win.
Mussolini - Rome 11-12-1941.

Published by La Visceglia who was an Italian publisher. The house was founded in 1929 by Prof. Vincenzo Visceglia. With the death of Vincenzo Visceglia in 1971, the Institute continued its activity under the direction of his daughter Rosangela Visceglia. Today it is directed by Laura Ottaviani, nephew of Vincenzo Visceglia.

Certificate of authenticityWe provide professional descriptions, condition report and HiBCoR rating (based on 45 years experience in the map business)
We fully guarantee the authenticity of items we sell. We provide a certificate of authenticity for each purchased item.

Condition / Coloring
We indicate the condition of each item and use our unnique HiBCoR grading system in which four key items determine a map's value: Historical Importance, Beauty, Condition/Coloring and Rarity.
We offer many maps in their original black and white condition. We do not systematically color-up maps to make them more sellable to the general public or buyer.
Copper engraved or wood block maps are always hand colored. Maps were initially colored for aesthetic reasons and to improve readability. Nowadays, it is becoming a challenge to find maps in their original colors and are therefor more valuable.

We use the following color keys in our catalog:
Original colors; mean that the colors have been applied around the time the map was issued.
Colored; If the colors are applied recently or at the end of the 20th century, then "colored", or "attractive colors" will be used.
Original o/l colors; means the map has only the borders colored at the time of publication.
