Description
Beautifully engraved certificate from the "Société Financière de Madagascar", share certificate No. 003841 for one hundred shares, in a 5,000000 francs loan. Text in French. Dated November 1929.
Very decorative issued and uncancelled, certificate with a small globe in top and all 36 coupons attached.
The Société financière de Madagascar, was a mining company and its head quarters was based at 9, avenue de l'Opéra, in Paris.
This share was issued only a few days after New York's Black Thursday. The Wall Street stock market crash took place on October 24, 1929 and caused one of the most serious financial crises in world history, plunging the United States, Europe and most world powers into a period of decline and stagnation during the 1930s. Among the damage, it was one of the causes of the rise of Nazism in Germany (from 3% in 1927 to 37% in 1932) and the outbreak of the Second World War .

Color Key
We offer many maps in their original black and white condition. We do not systematically color-up maps to make them more sellable to the general public or buyer.
Copper engraved or wood block maps are always hand colored. Maps were initially colored for aesthetic reasons and to improve readability. Nowadays, it is becoming a challenge to find maps in their original colors and are therefor more valuable.
We use the following color keys in our catalog:
Original colors; mean that the colors have been applied around the time the map was issued.
Original o/l colors; means the map has only the borders colored at the time of publication.
Colored; If the colors are applied recently or at the end of the 20th century.

Shipping fee
A flat shipping fee of $ 30 is added to each shipment by DHL within Europe and North America. This covers : International Priority shipping, Packing and Insurance (up to the invoice amount).
Shipments to Asia are $ 40 and rest of the world $50
We charge only one shipping fee when you have been successful on multiple items or when you want to combine gallery and auction purchases.
