World Flight Routes (all in Japanese).

A large, very decorative Japanese world map published as sugoroku (a Japanese game which might be compared to backgammon), published as a supplement to the 1930 New Year’s Day edition of the Osaka Mainichi Shimbun newspaper.

The really interesting map is drawn on a Mollweide projection instead of the more commonly used Mercator projection: cartographers use the Mollweide projection when an accurate representation of area takes precedence over the accuracy of shapes.
Countries are in shades of yellow, orange, green, red, purple and brown, oceans are blue. The visually striking design encourages players to travel around the world along various aviation routes. The map also features the tracks of four legendary pioneering flights, being: the Circumnavigation of World by the United States Army Air Corps (USAAC) in 1924, Charles Lindbergh’s Solo Transatlantic Flight (May 20-1, 1927), the Airship Italia’s route to the North Pole (1928) and the Circumnavigation by the Graf Zeppelin airship in 1929.

Around the map's border are black-and-white images of people, animals, and historical buildings related to the different stops along the way. The text boxes at the bottom give directions for playing the game and important things for children to learn.

"The easiest way" "Here are instructions for the easiest way to play. Around the map are assembled the world's interesting and well-known places. Most likely, these are all places that everyone wishes they could visit sometime. Departing from Osaka, move to all the places in the order 2, 3, 4, then return to Tokyo [52]. The player who reaches there first is the winner. "Throw the dice and proceed as many places as the number you cast..."

The upper-right text informs players of distances between locations and includes basic geographic facts. The legend, toward the bottom of the map oval, shows 5 types of red lines & 1 square: 1. Well-known large aircraft route (refers to zeppelin, seen at the center of the map) 2. First-class limited-time route 3. Liner air route 4.
