Description

Game board designed by Lucien Boucher, without any randomness, which is rare for that time. The board which is cut in four parts show a world map drawn by Lucien Boucher.
The game was intended to be played initially with two players, but offers special rules that allow up to 6 players to participate.
Each player can win in two ways: Bringing his six crews in the same place or capture two opposing crews by blocking them.
When the game starts, each player places one by one the six units of the other team(s). Some intersections of roads are better than others. In turn, a player may move one of its units from one intersection to another.
The world map has land and sea routes where painted lead figurines moved .

Lucien Boucher ( 1889-1971 ) became famous for his posters for Air France, often in the form of maps showing the airline's routes. His first dates from 1934 when the company was founded in 1933. His work for Air France was particularly appreciated; he became "Mr. Planisphere"!

Color Key
We offer many maps in their original black and white condition. We do not systematically color-up maps to make them more sellable to the general public or buyer.
Copper engraved or wood block maps are always hand colored. Maps were initially colored for aesthetic reasons and to improve readability. Nowadays, it is becoming a challenge to find maps in their original colors and are therefor more valuable.
We use the following color keys in our catalog:
Original colors; mean that the colors have been applied around the time the map was issued.
Original o/l colors; means the map has only the borders colored at the time of publication.
Colored; If the colors are applied recently or at the end of the 20th century.

Shipping fee
A flat shipping fee of $ 30 is added to each shipment by DHL within Europe and North America. This covers : International Priority shipping, Packing and Insurance (up to the invoice amount).
Shipments to Asia are $ 40 and rest of the world $50
We charge only one shipping fee when you have been successful on multiple items or when you want to combine gallery and auction purchases.
