Bucentaurus et Nundinae Venetae in die Ascensionis". The Doge leaving for the Lido on the Bucintoro on Ascension Day.
From the series of 12 views entitled Feste Ducali, or Solennita Dogali, published by Ludovico Furlanetto, with title and publisher's imprint below, numbered 4 to right hand corner of the plate. A. Canal pinx., Joan. Bapta Brustoloni sculp. The second series of views by Brustolon was published by Furlanetto 3 years after his first series of 12 engravings titled Prospectuum Aedium urbis Venetiarum.
Each print of the Prospectuum aedium is known in four states: the first state is before numeration of the matrices by Furlanetto, the second state circa 1778 is after Furlanetto’s numeration (1–22, at lower right), the third state circa 1791 carries the publication line Apud Theodorum Viero in Via Mercatoria vulgo dicta dell’orologio C. P. E. S and has the plates reorganized and renumbered (lower left),52 and the fourth state has a new publication line Presso G.[iuseppe] Battaggia in Venezia and is dated 1830.
An impression of ‘Pons Rivoalti ad Occidentem’ with altered caption Antonius Canal Pinxit. P.V. may indicate the existence of yet another state five.

Color Key
We offer many maps in their original black and white condition. We do not systematically color-up maps to make them more sellable to the general public or buyer.
Copper engraved or wood block maps are always hand colored. Maps were initially colored for aesthetic reasons and to improve readability. Nowadays, it is becoming a challenge to find maps in their original colors and are therefor more valuable.
We use the following color keys in our catalog:
Original colors; mean that the colors have been applied around the time the map was issued.
Original o/l colors; means the map has only the borders colored at the time of publication.
Colored; If the colors are applied recently or at the end of the 20th century.

Shipping fee
A flat shipping fee of $ 30 is added to each shipment by DHL within Europe and North America. This covers : International Priority shipping, Packing and Insurance (up to the invoice amount).
Shipments to Asia are $ 40 and rest of the world $50
We charge only one shipping fee when you have been successful on multiple items or when you want to combine gallery and auction purchases.
