Description
It is in German and dates back to 1930. It shows the political division of the world, with the borders of the various countries and the names of the nations, railroads, telegraph lines, shipping routes, etc.
It is an important cartographic tool that provides information on global economic geography and is used for educational and research purposes. The globe is printed in twelve segments and applied to a cardboard sphere. It rotates on a central axis and is supported by a turned wooden pedestal.
The company Räth, a globe manufacturer, was founded in 1917 by Paul Räth (1881-1929). After the death of its founder, the company was acquired by the Leipzig geographer Professor Doctor Arthur Krause. The company is still in operation today, having survived two world wars and the dissolution of the GDR. Some globes from the Räth company are exhibited in important museums, such as the first electrically illuminated globe from 1921, on display at the Globe Museum of the Vienna National Library.
The excellent condition and the very rare Art-Deco base that supports the globe make this globe an excellent piece of furniture. It is also interesting from a historical, geographical, collecting, and antiquarian point of view.

Color Key
We offer many maps in their original black and white condition. We do not systematically color-up maps to make them more sellable to the general public or buyer.
Copper engraved or wood block maps are always hand colored. Maps were initially colored for aesthetic reasons and to improve readability. Nowadays, it is becoming a challenge to find maps in their original colors and are therefor more valuable.
We use the following color keys in our catalog:
Original colors; mean that the colors have been applied around the time the map was issued.
Original o/l colors; means the map has only the borders colored at the time of publication.
Colored; If the colors are applied recently or at the end of the 20th century.

Shipping fee
A flat shipping fee of $ 30 is added to each shipment by DHL within Europe and North America. This covers : International Priority shipping, Packing and Insurance (up to the invoice amount).
Shipments to Asia are $ 40 and rest of the world $50
