We collected tips for prospective map collectors and advice on storing your maps. Museums keep storage areas at an optimal temperature of around 70F and relative humidity of 50%. If conditions cannot be kept to this ideal, and historic houses, for example, are often not air-conditioned, avoid extremes such as very high heat in an attic, and avoid major fluctuations.
