Huber depicts the city and its structures in incredible detail, making it one of the most attractive and important visual sources for Vienna.
Joseph Daniel von Huber (1730/31–1788) was an outstanding Austrian military cartographer. Huber studied at the Imperial Engineering Academy in Vienna, worked as a military cartographer during the Seven Years’ War, and later participated in the Josephinian Land Survey. He created two impressive, large-format perspective views of Prague and Vienna.
