Condition: Very good condition. Full sheet on heavy laid paper, print size: 54,5x40 cm., very wide borders, good impression, verso blanc, some traces of moist at back and at right border. Center fold as published flattened.

Obelisco Egizio (Egyptian obelisk erected by Pope Sixtus V on the Piazza di San Giovanni in Laterano) is a wonderful black and white etching by the master of architectural prints Giambattista Piranesi.

Etching, 1759. From the series 'Vedute di Roma antica e moderna', Rome 1759-1778.
Second state (of 5) on thick laid paper, watermark Fleur-de-Lis inside a double circle, a monogram on top (n. 2 according to Hind), in very good condition.
