The full title of the atlas: 'The Comprehensive Atlas & Geography of the World comprising An Extensive Series of Maps, A Description, Physical and Political of all the Countries of the Earth: A Pronouncing Vocabulary of Geographical Names and A Copious Index of Geographical Positions'
Published by Blackie & Son London 1882. This edition comprises of Vol 1 and Vol 2 combined.

The Atlas has 10 full page chromolithographic coloured plates, representing the principal races of Mankind printed on one side only and many wood engraved illustrations in the pages of text. It has 55 double page and 12 single page coloured maps, 96pp index, half calf and cloth boards, morocco spine label, marbled endpapers.
What makes this atlas more desirable, and therefore, rare is the quality of the maps and coloured plates.

Measurements exclude the margins and are provided in both millimeters and inches, with height given first.
Color was done by hand. 'Original colors' means that the item was colored at, or about, the time of it's original publication. When the term 'Colored' appears, it means that the map was more recently colored, likely in this century or at the end of last century.

Our warranty means that there is no time limitation to our guarantee of authenticity and if there is ever discovered that something bought here is not authentic, your money will be returned.
