Description : This famous portrait, engraved by Galle, was included in Ortelius' atlases from 1579 onwards.
The title translation is By looking, Ortelius gave to mortal beings the world, by looking at his face, Galleus gave them Ortelius.
The portrait is surrounded in a strap work and garland frame. Latin text on verso.
Condition : Good and dark imprint. Good margins.
