Condition: Oblong 4to. lithographed pictorial title, 12 leaves of letterpress text printed on rectos and 12 lithograph plates on original tinted grounds. Publisher's original cream cardboard, lithograph pictorial title on front board. Boards soiled, used and water spotting, spine professionally repaired. A few brown spotting to interior. Text page # 6 with a small wormhole and a tear repaired.
Condition Rating

Rare album illustrated with a lithographed composition on the title showing the Sacred Ark of the Hindus, repeated on the first cover of the cardboard and 12 tinted lithograph views of his Voyage around the World : New York City, Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Chile, China, Hawaii, Bolivia, Philippines.

Printed by Pierre Antoine Desrosiers, the most important printer in Moulins at the time, the album seems to have been printed in small numbers. It is not listed by Sabin or Cordier.

Colour was done by hand. 'Original colours' means that the item was coloured at, or about, the time of it's original publication. When the term 'Coloured' appears, it means that the map was more recently coloured, likely in this century or at the end of last century.
