Decorative plan of London, with illustrated views of prominent London buildings (including the newly opened docks) along the top and bottom of the plate. The plan is divided into lettered squares for reference.
One of the most visually appealing maps of London of the period. The plan shows the intended construction of two bridges across the Thames: that at Vauxhall, opened in 1816, and the other near the Strand, here named Strand Bridge but upon its opening in 1817 renamed Waterloo Bridge.
Of interest is the attention paid to 'Projected Works', coloured yellow. These include: Regents Park and the 'Intended Road' running south (although still showing Jew's Harp tea rooms and Willans Farm, both mentioned in William Blake's 'Jerusalem').

Above and below the plan are 24 views of London landmarks : St. Paul's Cathedral, Westminster Bridge, Bank, Lambeth Palace, Royal Exchange, Greenwich Hospital, Monument, Chelsea Hospital, Charing Cross, the Tower of London, Horse Guards, London Bridge, Westminster Abbey, Westminster Hall, The Admiralty, India House, Mansion House, the London Docks, The Queen's Palace in St. James's Park, Blackfriars Bridge, Somerset House, and the Guildhall. Both the West India Docks and East India Docks are illustrated, having been built in 1802 and 1806 respectively.
Reference: Howgego 256, plate 13. First state.
