One of the most decorative maps of East Frisia and its important shipping center of Emden and the Watten Islands, from the cartography of Ubbo Emmius, a local cartographer and historian (1547-1625). An inset shows a plan of Emden.
The map is actually a reissue of the map appearing in some copies of Kaerius "Germaniae Inferior", of 1617. After Visscher acquired the copper plate he extended the plan of Emden and added also other additions, including the newly reclaimed land, "Hogebunder Nieulandt".
According to prof. Schilder there are 7 states of the plate known, of which 3 by Visscher: one dated 1624 with additional number "24" in bottom right corner and last state is dated 1650.
Reference: Schilder, MCN VII, p. 416 and p. 546, Nr. 37.3. Campbell 30 plate X.
