On page 107 a finely copper engraved world map (88x84mm.) Paradigma Terrae Plagas 12. Ventorum situm indicans., centered on Europe and Africa, with parts of America, Asia and a large southern continent "Terrae Magellanicae pars".

Eustache Asseline or Eustache de Saint-Paul (Paris 1573 - Paris 1640), (in latin Eustachio a Sancto Paulo), originates from a family of lawyers, he began his career with brilliant studies at the Sorbonne (the same time as the future Cardinal Bérulle). He became Doctor in 1604. In 1609 he published the first edition of his Complete Manual of philosophy in Latin, which became a real "bestseller" in the seventeenth century.
First edition was published in 1609 by Carolum Chastelain; other editions in from Paris are 1611; 1616; 1618; 1619; 1623; 1629; 163 4; 1640; 1647; 1649 and in Leiden, 1620 and 1626. This being the second edition printed in Leiden.
