Size : 14.9 x 19.5 inches. / 37.8 x 49.6 cm.
Colouring : Uncoloured.

Description :Map of the Middle East, extending from Greece to Arabia and covering the Cradle of Civilisation region.
This is a new plate copied from another Ortelius map of 1570 with a less decorative and more artistic cartouche. Both are based on Gastaldi's map of 1561 for the Arabian detail.
A description of the Ormus region is given in a blank space in Persia.
From Theatrum Orbis Terrarum, 1603.
This is the most advanced Latin edition of the Theatrum published by Vrients. According the colophon of the Nomenclator this edition was printed by Robertus Bruneau. A number of new maps was added by Vrients. Some of them may have appeared earlier in the 1602 Spanish edition.

Condition : A good and dark impression. Mint condition.
