Date : Nagasaki, c. 1820-1830.
Size : 48.7 x 21.7 inches. / 123.6 x 55.0 cm.
Colouring : In original colours.
Description :Because of the scarcely of impressions from abroad many of the Nagasaki subjects, prints and paintings are copies. The lack of understanding usually makes these impressions a kind of primitive, which is shown in sections unknown to the Japanese (buttons, shadows, the way he Dutch are dressed etc.)
Most probably a copy (fumpon) after the painting in the Rijksmuseum voor Volkenkunde in Leiden, illustrated in: Stellingwerf, De diepe wateren van Nagasaki # 26.

Condition : Colours on paper, mounted on green damask ( 1995x670mm. ) Some old flaws, otherwise good condition.
