Condition: Very light water stain in right hand part of the map with very light foxing of paper. Good and dark impression.
Condition Rating

Uncommon map of the Ancient world showing the European and Asian continents with in the lower right corner a blank landmass with incomplete coastlines appears in the location of Australia.
Shows several landmasses north and northwest of the British Isles, all unnamed save for Thule I.
In Asia the mythical Lake Chiamai is shown but unnamed, Japan is labeled Labady I., the Philippines are Sabadibae Insulae, Java is Sindae Insulae and Sumatra is called Bonae Fortunae I. and Korea as an island.
In Africa the Niles rises from twin lakes south of the equator.
Title cartouche lower center with an ereased address "Chez l'autheur, Rue de Bons Enfans au Monde Royal". The original date of 1655 now updated to 1663.

Colour is by hand. 'Original colours' means; that the item was coloured at or about the time of publication. 'Coloured' means that the map is coloured in this century or at the end of last century.

On top we use our unique HiBCOR grading system which can help the starting collector to set his focus.

- Splits, tears, discolouration and other defects are carefully noted. In addition we use a condition rating system help
 If the condition report does not show remarks about splits, tears, discolouration, etc; this means there are non to be found in the item!.
