Description :Nice small map of South pole, including Australia and New Zealand by Johannes Walch in his rare Allgemeiner Atlas Nach den bewährsten Hülfsmitteln und astronomischen Ortsbestimungen…, edition of 1812.
Johann Walch (1757-1824) was cartographer and map publisher active in Augsburg, he was the son-in-law of Johann Martin Will whom he succeeded in 1806.
Tooley lists edition of this Allgemeiner Atlas of 1803, 1808 and 1816, but not this edition of 1812.
Condition : The paper has age-toning, and marginal thumbling and light spotting. Dark impression.
