Colouring: In very attractive original colours.
Condition:  Rubbed contemporary cloth with morocco spine. Maps with good impression and in good condition. Wide margins. A few maps with faint foxing or soiling. Overall a good and attractive example in attractive original colouring.

With printed title "Laurie and Whittle new and accurate general atlas: chiefly intended for the use of schools, and convenience of gentlemen's libraries: also to accompany the various geographical grammars, dictionaries, &c. comprising all the new discoveries to the present times".
Unusual Atlas with 39 up-to-date copper engraved maps from the early 19th century. Some maps showing explorers tracks, dates, and annotations.
Eighth edition, 1811. With the engraved title dated 1810, frontispiece dated 1807, printed title, index of the maps, and text page of geographic definitions. Two maps are double page - the others single page.
