These rare gores are very possibly the only surviving examples from a 17 inch (44cm) diameter globe by Hondius and Janssonius. It is believed that only four of five examples of the globe itself are recorded (in three states of 1623, 1636, 1648)

Very acceptable condition, original prints were cut just outside of the plate and jointly put in an added passe-partout of laid paper, some fiber fills to the prints mainly at the bottom edge with the addition of the numbers '3' and '4' in het German keys (see photographs).
Very large size general panoramic view of the city from the water ('het IJ') with the harbour up front. With key 1-30 below the view, in Dutch (bottom left), Latin (bottom right) and in German (top left 1-16, top right 17-31).
