Title page cut to lower neat line with paper installment. The maps 6 to 12 have more or less worm traces with missing paper backed with Japan paper. Repair to tear lower right corner on map 7. General map (12) with worm traces in lower right and left corner.
The maps with light discolouration along the center fold. With the usual light discolouration or foxing throughout. A few pages becoming a bit dis-bound. During a previous restoration the full red morocco boards covered with with 18th century marbled paper and fly leaves.
First edition of the first printed atlas of Africa, described by R. A. Skelton as "a methodical and precisely documented description of the geography of Africa."
