Condition: Covers worn at extremities and with a dampstain cutting across lower corners. The map itself bright and in very good condition. Map dimensions 73.5 x 106.8 cm, overall dimensions 77 x 110 cm.
Condition Rating

Folding map of London and the surrounding areas showing the extents from Potter's Bar down to Caterham and Thurrock across to Windsor. The four mile radius from Charing Cross and the three and twelve miles radii from the G.P.O are printed. Completed and proposed railways are marked accordingly. The distances from the terminii are marked in miles along the railway routes.
Original colour in block and outline. The county, borough and postal district boundaries heightened in colour, the abbreviations of the postal districts also printed on the map. The map dissected into 32 sections and laid down on linen. Folds between red cloth covers, gilt lettered on upper cover and blindstamped to both.
Old manuscript label to upper board. Matching marbled paper to folded end section on linen verso and to pastedown of covers, the latter with an ownership inscription dated 1860. Hyde, No. 39, (4). This edition not listed by Boyle, but cf. no. 201 for a similar edition.
