Where do I find my invoice ?

Your online invoice is displayed 24 hours after the close of each auction in "My invoices" in My control panel. You need to be logged in to see your invoice. Following the close of the auction, we will also email you a copy of the invoice.

Payments by Credit card, Wire and Paypal accepted
- You may pay in US $ or Euros by Visa / Mastercard credit card using our secure online PayPal credit card Authorization module.
- You may pay by clicking on "Make Payment" button in the invoice. A converted amount in euros is shown next to the PayPal Euro button, at conversion at the middle rate valid at the moment of the closing.
-You do not need to have a PayPal account and all major cards are excepted.
- If you want to do a direct wire transfer into our ING, Amsterdam account please contact us here.

If I bid in the auction and decide afterward that I do not want it, can I return it?
Bidding at auction is a binding contract to purchase the item. You are not purchasing on an approval basis. Therefore all sales are final. A sale is canceled only if it is determined that the lot is significantly different than described in the catalog.

Shipping
A flat shipping fee is added for shipments :
$ 30 to North America.
€ 25 to Europe
€ 15 to Netherlands and Belgium
€ 35 or $40 to all other destinations.
This covers International Priority shipping, Packing and Insurance (up to the invoice amount).

Shortly before shipment, we will email you a shipping notification with a tracking number. Check carefully the shipping address ! Please update your ship to address and contact us immediately about your update.

Items are shipped usually a few days after payment is received.

Maps are usually shipped flat in specially designed cardboard boxes or in solid tubes, if your item can be shipped in an A4 size envelope and no Insurance is requested, the reduced shipping rate of $15.00 will be added to your bill. For parcels of more than 1kg an additional fee applies. You are billed at nominal postal fees.

If you have your own account with FedEx, DHL, UPS we can send using your account, and no shipping fee is added to your bill.

If your parcel happens to be in transit for 2 weeks you have to contact us and will place an official parcel trace request at the local post office. Such a trace may take about 2 weeks before a response is received.

Hold Shipment option
We have added a new option that allows you to put your shipping on hold. This can be incredibly convenient for people who want to buy several items at different auctions and ship them together. The service is free and you pay only once the shipment fee.

Returning items

Paulus Swaen fully warranties the authenticity and condition of each lot.
Defects in lots have been carefully noted.
Any lot differing from the catalog description may be returned. There is no time limitation to this guarantee.

Please note that if the condition field does not mention splits, tears, discoloration, etc; this means there are non to be found in the item!. We are serving collectors, institutions and individual buyers for 40 years. Our quality standards are of a high level !.
A certificate of authenticity is provided for each acquired item.

I have not received my parcel after 14 days

Items are shipped by "International Registered Priority mail" and are fully insured. The shipping date will be notified by email and is also noted in your invoice page and click on status. Depending on the country you reside, it usually takes 7-10 working days to arrive.

If your parcel happens to be in transit for longer than 2 weeks please double-check the shipping address first. Double-check if the postman perhaps left an absence note!

Please contact us and we will place a parcel trace request at the Post Office from where the parcel was shipped. It may take several weeks to get a replay, but usually, it releases the parcel at customs clearance.

Hold Shipment option

At no additional charge, Paulus Swaen allows you to put your shipping on hold. This can be incredibly convenient for people who want to buy several items at different auctions and ship them together. The service is free and you pay only once the shipment fee.

Please contact us once you have paid your auction invoice. We will then activate the "Hold Shipment" option and will hold the item. No shipping fees are added to future acquisitions and we will be shipping only once you instruct us to do.

You may combine Gallery and Auction items and there is no time limit to this service.



Your right to cancel the purchase of a lot
In accordance with the EU Consumer Rights Directive and habitually reside in the European Union you have the right to cancel the contract for the purchase of a lot, without giving any reason. The cancellation period will expire 14 calendar days from the day after the date on which you or a third party (other than the carrier and indicated by you) acquires, physical possession of the lot.
To exercise the right to cancel you must inform Paulus Swaen Europe bv, which is offering to sell the lot either as an agent for the seller or as the owner of the lot, of your decision to cancel this contract by a clear statement (e.g. a letter sent by post, or e-mail (amsterdam@swaen.com).
To meet the cancellation deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right to cancel before the cancellation period has expired.
