Description :The portrait is after Anthony Vandyck, three heads: in profile to right, facing front, three-quarters to left, wearing a lace collar, star and ribbon of the garter, pearl earring and cloak over one arm. Vandyck produced the portrait to send to Rome for Bernini to model a bust from the picture.
Inscription: Antonius Vandyck Eques pinxit. Aug.t 12.th 1815. W. Sharp, Member of the Imperial & Royal Academy of Vienna, sculpsit.
London: Published 1.st Feb.y, 1815 for the Select Work of Celebrated Portraits and Illustrious Characters, after Pictures of the Great Masters of the various Schools of Painting, under the direction of W.m Buchanan Esq.r By Mr. Dixon Jun.r at the Historick Gallery, 87, & also at 60, Pall Mall.
