We provide a free appraisal if you are considering selling one of your maps, please send us a picture and description of an item you are considering to consign.

Do You Have Quality Antique Maps in Your Collection? : Not sure who to sell to and where to go to get the best price?
Among our visitors are collectors, museums, and dealers around the world who are constantly looking for fine quality merchandise.

- We will gladly consider any map or atlas for consignment to a future sale. In order to properly evaluate your antique map, we need to know as much information as possible.
- We suggest that you email us with a description of the item, including the name of the maker or attribution, the exact wording of the title, the condition and known repair history of the item and measurements.
- A PHOTOGRAPH NEED TO ACCOMPANY THE REQUEST and need to be sent digitally.
We provide auction estimates free of charge, from photographs sent via the Internet. Such auction estimates are not for valuation purposes and are subject to revision on inspection of the object.

If we think that your item would be successful if offered through Paulus Swaen, we will ask you to send it to us so we can examine and photograph it in person.
After agreeing on an estimate amount and a reserve for your item, a consignment contract will be sent to you.
Paulus Swaen sellers premiums are the lowest in the industry:
Lot value up to $10,000 - 15% of hammer price
Lot value $10,001 up 8% of hammer price.
There is a minimum fee of $15.00 per lot, which is due when the lot sells. There are no other charges.
Individual lot value has to be a minimum of $300

* The items do not suffer from the wear and tear of being handled by hundreds of people during viewing
days.

* People all around the world can see an image of the map in full colour right in their own homes. They can see the map reduced or full-screen size.

* Sellers can set a minimum - starting or reserve price - below which their property will not be sold.

* We advertise in magazines like MapForum, IMCoS Journal, Fine Books & Collections, Caertthresoor, etc.

* You are able to submit auction item-descriptions on-line. With
one click you are able to re-list unsold items in the next auction.
If an item does not sell there are no costs.

* Items to be included in next auction have to be uploaded at the latest one week before the auction starts.

* We provide you FREE of Charge with software so that you can handle your inventory and submit auction item-descriptions by
email. Most probably we can import your CSV-files, making bulk import of your item description quickly and convenient.

* On your "ItemWatch" page you can track on-line the received bids of your auction items.

* You will get paid by US$ check 30 days after close of the auction. Sales may be balanced off against acquisitions.

* Illustration of your item is FREE. We use zoom image software, making it possible to show our customers even the finest detail
even at low internet connection. We use the highest resolution images in the online auction industry.

* The deadline for receipt of materials is two weeks in advance for the scheduled auction close date.
