How to Order / Terms of Sale

Please read this document before registration.

How to Order an item in the fix-sale catalogue.

During the time that we have no auction running we offer in our catalogue items available for fix sale.

1./ If you are a registered user please Login first. Than hit the "Order" button. A confirmation message and E-mail are send out immediately. An invoice will be Emailed within two business days. After acceptance of your check we will mail out the item by registered airmail, fully insured. When indicated payment by Visa/Mastercard, the items will be mailed out immediately.

2./ If you have not registered with us you can order an item by filling in an Orderform by clicking on the button Order Form" in the lower right hand corner of each item page. After submitting this form a confirmation message and E-mail are send out immediately. An invoice will be emailed within two business days. After acceptance of your check we will mail out the item by registered airmail, fully insured. When indicated payment by Visa/Mastercard, the items will be mailed out immediately.

3./ A more convenient way is by becomming a registered user. From this point you will get your UserID# and password which you can also use during auction. When ordering an item you simply fill in your UserID and password and hit the "Order registered User" in the lower left-hand corner of each item page. A confirmation message and E-mail are send out immediately. An invoice will be emailed within two business days. After acceptance of your check we will mail out the item by registered airmail, fully insured. When indicated payment by Visa/Mastercard, the items will be mailed out immediately.

Warranty

We warranty the authenticity and condition of each lot described in this catalog. Defect in lots offered for sale have been carefully noted. However, any lot differing from the catalog description may be returned within one week of receipt. Please notify us prior to returning. A certificate of authenticity is provided for each acquired item.

Description

Colour is by hand. "Original colours" means that the item was coloured at or about the time of publication. "Coloured" means that the map is coloured in this century or recently. "o/l colours"; means the map has only the borders coloured. Measurements are given in millimeters and inches, height is given first, excluding margins.

Please note that we are dealers in high quality maps for more than 24 years and most of our maps are in original colouring.

Value Added Tax / Sales Tax.

Sales are not subject to VAT.

Buyers from within the State of Florida please ad 7% sales tax. For Florida re-sellers providing an appropriate tax exemption certificate the sales are not subject to Sales Tax.

Payment

Payment is due ten days from the invoice date. The items are shipped when your payment is received. Public institutions and libraries are granted four weeks credit. We prefer payment by check or wire, but accept VISA and MASTERCARD.

Dispatch

Prices are Net and do not include postage. All orders will be dispatched in rolled tubes or flat packages by registered air mail unless instructed otherwise, at the customer's expense. A flat rate of US $ 15 on all shipments (including insurance) will be added to your bill. Items that weight more than 3 pounds will be billed accordingly.

All items are offered subject to prior sale.

Some people are wary of transmitting credit card details over the Internet. However, compared to going to a restaurant and handing the waiter your credit card or ordering a ticket over the phone, you have nothing to worry about! These two methods are the most insecure way of using your credit card!

We use the best available methods to protect your privacy by using proven encryption technology. The only time you need to use a secure link is when you're registering your sensitive details. All other areas on this site contain public information, and you needn't be concerned if your browser warns you that these areas contain "unsecured" information.

How do you know the page is secure? In Netscape look at the security button at the top of the browser, it will be surrounded by a yellow glow, as will the little lock at the bottom left of the browser. In Explorer at the bottom of the browser in the middle you will see a little yellow lock. These icons indicate that you are in a secure part of the site and that any data passed through this section is secure!

Cookies

Paulus Swaen does use cookies! A cookie is a small piece of information kept on your computer's hard drive and is used by websites to record information about a user's visit to a site. For the Paulus Swaen site this information is a userID# and password. THAT'S IT!

This way your userID# and password will be automatically loaded for you, after the next time you have entered a bid.

You have to have your 'accept cookies' turned on, as our cookie aids you throughout navigation of our site.

About your details

When using our Real-time processing at no stage do we get hold of your personal credit card details, EVER! All details are passed by you through to the bank and the approval or disapproval of your funds is in 'real time' (live!). We do not have, nor do we get, access to your personal credit card details.

We do not do deals with your personal details when you create a new account with us! We do not give out your name, we do not put you on mailing lists or sell your Internet identity at any time for any purpose.
