New York, 1875, In attractive original colours.. 215x330mm. Original hand coloured lithography, finished with Gum Arabic. Cut to the neat line, one tear upper part left 4 cm into the engraved area repaired. Inscriptions added in manuscript in the lower and right part of the lithography : New-Jersey, New-York, Brooklyn, Le mer, Entrée de New-York, Brooklyn, East river, New-York, Hudson, New-Jersey. Slightly foxing.
Large margins. Contemporarily laid down on cardboard. In good condition.
A very decorative bird's-eye view of Manhattan, Brooklyn and part of New Jersey. A view of Manhattan Island from the southwest, surrounded by the Hudson, Harlem, and Est River and the bay.
