Description
On page 107 a finely copper engraved world map (88x84mm.) Paradigma Terrae Plagas 4.ac 12. Ventorum situm indicans., centered on Europe and Africa, with parts of America, Asia and a large southern continent "Terrae Magellanicae pars".
Eustache Asseline or Eustache de Saint-Paul (Paris 1573 - Paris 1640), (in latin Eustachio a Sancto Paulo), originates from a family of lawyers, he began his career with brilliant studies at the Sorbonne (the same time as the future Cardinal Bérulle). He became Doctor in 1604. In 1609 he published the first edition of his Complete Manual of philosophy in Latin, which became a real "bestseller" in the seventeenth century.
First edition was published in 1609 by Carolum Chastelain; other editions in from Paris are 1611; 1616; 1618; 1619; 1623; 1629; 163 4; 1640; 1647; 1649 and in Leiden, 1620 and 1626. This being the second edition printed in Leiden.

Color Key
We offer many maps in their original black and white condition. We do not systematically color-up maps to make them more sellable to the general public or buyer.
Copper engraved or wood block maps are always hand colored. Maps were initially colored for aesthetic reasons and to improve readability. Nowadays, it is becoming a challenge to find maps in their original colors and are therefor more valuable.
We use the following color keys in our catalog:
Original colors; mean that the colors have been applied around the time the map was issued.
Original o/l colors; means the map has only the borders colored at the time of publication.
Colored; If the colors are applied recently or at the end of the 20th century.

Shipping fee
A flat shipping fee of $ 30 is added to each shipment by DHL within Europe and North America. This covers : International Priority shipping, Packing and Insurance (up to the invoice amount).
Shipments to Asia are $ 40 and rest of the world $50
