This is the first state of the world maps by F. de Wit. Especially rare, extremely decorative.
It appeared in "De Zee-Atlas Ofte Water-Wereld ..." By Hendrik Doncker in 1660. It is inspired by the famous Blaeu's wall map of 1648.

If offered the map is usually stained, this example in very good condition and hard to find in this state of conservation.
This map is a great example for Japanese world maps representing Buddhist cosmology with real world cartography. It is the earliest one and - therefore - the prototype for Buddhist world maps.
