Very rare and detailed map of the Black Sea area prepared by Placide de Sainte-Hélène (1648-1734). and engraved by Claude-Auguste Berey (1651-1732).
The map is of particular interest because it shows in a pictorial way the exodus of Tatars to Poland. In the upper part we find the text "Passage...

Mapmaker, Captain Jan Hendrik van Kinsbergen (1735-1819). Published by H. Friesman in 1787. This map first appeared in 1776, and was the first Russian map of the newly annexed Crimea. The map is clearly based on direct observation and includes a great deal of topographical detail.
