With one page-sized map of the area around Amsterdam, and three (two double-page) scarce town plans. Folio, 1208 pages, two titles, plus register.
Hardly ever seen on the market, complete with the valuable maps!

| EXPILLY, Abbe d' - Le Geographe Manuel, Contenant La Description de Tous les Pays du Monde. Paris, 1762, . 130x75mm. Atlas has a split of about 20% at the top of the spine but is holding fine. There are a couple of chipped corners and regular rubbing to extremities.
Maps are folded into the back of the atlas and have folds as produced plus extra creases and mis-folds. The Mappemonde has a 3 cm tear that was professionally repaired. Miniature Atlas in French featuring maps of The World, The Americas, Asia, Africa, Europe & France. Atlas is by Jean Joseph Georges Abbe d'Expilly who was a French diplomat and traveller and member of the Societee Royal de Belles-Lettres de Nancy. With ink writing before the title. Interior with good impression, age-toning/browned, and some faint foxing. Maps in good condition, some with repaired tears and creasing. Nice example of this rare atlas! Interesting Atlas with 14 double-page engraved maps by Mr. Wauthier after the Abbé Gaultier and dated 1797 or 1799.
