Size : 16.9 x 21.7 inches. / 43.0 x 55.0 cm.
Colouring : In attractive strong original colours.

Description :A set of 3 framed Neo-Gothic Canon Altar pieces, each panel in manuscript on parchment and written in red and black ink, decorated with beautiful golden, blue or red initials. Set in a rich and beautiful gouache and gold polychrome frame with foliage flowers, birds and fantastic animals.

The central panel is illuminated with three scenes: the Crucifixion in the center, left the Angel appearing to the shepherds at the Nativity and Adoration of the Magi to the right.

Left panel is adorned with a beautiful miniature of the flight into Egypt of the Holy Family, accompanied by the Angel.

The right panel is adorned with an illumination representing the apostle John accompanied by an eagle, writing the Gospel to Patmos.

Condition : Dimensions: Central panel (430 x 550 mm): 105 x 124 mm (miniature panel) 80 x 127 mm (side miniatures) side panels (430 x 260 mm): 88 x 150 mm (miniature).
Each panel is framed in a beautiful molded gilt frame. The illumination of the Crucifixion has some paint clipping at the place representing Saint John, two small tears in parchment in the center panel.
