Description :Second edition of this folding map of the Crimea. In upper right corner an inset map of the areas around the Black Sea, "The Town & Harbor of Sevastopol with the Batteries & Approaches." "Wyld's List of Recent Publications" attached to front panel of folded map.
James Wyld (the younger) was geographer to the Queen and H.R.H. Prince Albert. Joined his father's business in 1830. His address was from 1835 until 1860: Charing Cross East next door to the Post Office and 457 Strand. As Queen Victoria married Albert in 1840 his imprint changed to Geographer of the Queen and H.R.H. Prince Albert.

Condition : 2nd Edition. Folding map pasted on cloth with a cloth-covered decorative embossed board covers with gilt title (175x110mm.) Cover very good with dulled gilt title. Generally in unusual good condition.
