Colouring : In original o/l colours.
Description : Sea chart depicting the China Sea prepared by the French Ingenieur L.Manen. The Chart is updated for the year 1882, and must have served the French during the Sino-French War of 1883-1885.
Including the Chinese coast with good detail around Hong Kong, the Malay Peninsular with Singapore, Borneo, the east coast of the Philippines with Manila and Célébes. The west coast of Taiwan is in upper right corner.
The chart shows the common route and the recommended route during the monsoon period for Singapore to Hong Kong.
Lighthouses are coloured by hand in red and yellow. It shows soundings, anchorage's, channels, shoals, navigational sightings. ¤
Condition : Repair of a 4 cm tear into engraved area bottom centerfold. Else in very good condition.
